Bethlehem Steel FC midfielder Yosef Samuel will have a chance to impress United States U20 head coach Tab Ramos ahead of the U20 World Cup at a training camp in London, England.

The 19-year-old Philadelphia Union Academy grad was one of 25 players called into the camp, which will be held through April 10. It’s the Atlanta native’s first U20 call-up since August 2016 and his third overall.

“This camp provides one more opportunity for players we have already seen with the U-20 National Team and also players who have done well with our U-19 National Team,” Ramos said in a news release. “We will be able to see players in highly competitive environments playing against very good competition.”

Samuel signed a USL contract with Bethlehem Steel FC late last season and made only one appearance after spending two seasons with the Union U18 team, scoring 10 goals in 37 appearances.

Of the 25 players on the roster, just six were part of the team that won the CONCACAF U20 Championship for the first time. That team included Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty who, along with Union midfielder Derrick Jones, has a shot to make Ramos’ final World Cup roster.

The U.S. U20 team opens Group F play at the U20 World Cup in South Korea on May 22 against Ecuador, play Senegal May 25, and play Saudi Arabia May 28.
