The Independence won their fifth straight game on Saturday to go four points clear on the top of the table over the visiting Western New York Flash. Tasha Kai scored her league-leading 8th goal of the campaign and Sinead Farrelly notched her first ever career goal for the winner.

Western NY put something extra in the tank at the end of the game. After scoring a penalty kick Sinclair grabs the ball from the net and returns it to center field to capture a few extra seconds of play. They were determined but could not earn the tie game.
