Temple has been known in recent years for the number of foreign talent they recruit to the men’s soccer team but head coach Brian Rowland has also found success mining MLS academies for top domestic talent as well.

Two more midfielders with MLS academy experience were announced as newcomers to the program on Wednesday. Gyuwon “Josh” Chong is from Lynchburg, Va. but has spent time in the Sporting Kansas City academy and trained with SKCII. Daniel Moyer, of Shirley, N.Y. has played for both Orlando City and NYCFC’s academies.

Chong joins Sporting Kansas City Academy/SKC II alum Sean Karani, a sophomore, on the squad.

The schedule for 2021 has not been released but the Owls are expected to compete in a slate of games and will have a chance to compete for an American Athletic Conference title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament, which will be staged this spring.
