Game Thread: Philadelphia Union 4 Alianza 0, Full Time

Full Time – The Union move on to the quarterfinals with a convincing 4-0 win that could’ve been 6 or 7-0.

85′ The rout is on. Perea with his second of the night off an assist from Uhre. Uhre did well to chase down and control a lofted ball from McGlynn and played across to Perea for the finish.

84′ Donovan checks in for Gazdag.

81′ GOAL!!! Perea scores off a great ball from Quinn Sullivan. .

80′ Gazdag’s turn to try the bike but his shot is high.

77′ Quinn Sullivan into the game for Carranza.

76′ Chance falls to McGlynn in the box but Martinez knocks it out for a corner.

71′ Cross of a free kick for Alianza is headed toward goal but Bendik makes the save to his right.

65′ Uhre, Perea and Bueno on for Torres, Bedoya and Martinez. Bendik takes the armband.

62′ GOAL!!! Gazdag. This one isn’t coming back. 2-0 to the Union. Uhre, Perea and Bueno preparing to come on.

61′ Penalty to the Union.

60′ Possible handball being checked by the referee.

55′ Carranza goes for the bike but catches an Alianza player and gets a yellow. Alianza player still down being treated.

52′ Corner in the box falls to Carranza but his shot is high.

49′ Gazdag played in and he gets knocked down but it’s Concacaf so we play on.

48′ GOAL! Daniel Gazdag doubles the lead off another corner kick from Wagner. Oh wait, never mind. Goal waved off.

46′ Second half underway

45′ + 1 GOAL!!!! Damion Lowe heads it home off the corner from Wagner to put the Union in front. Took 135 minutes but we have a goal.

44′ Glesnes responds to the crowd yelling “shoooot” by taking a shot but it one-hops Martinez.

43′ McGlynn’s free kick hits the wall and gets cleared out of danger.

40′ Counter for the Union, Harriel taken down just outside the box and Montes is sent off with his second yellow. Union go up a man and have a free kick from a dangerous spot.

27′ Alianza with a good spell, work the ball around and get a shot but it sails high of Bendik’s goal.

24′ Gazdag taken out, not call, Alianza draws a foul on the Union’s side of the field. Unreal.

22′ Bedoya redirects a low Wagner corner toward goal and Gazdag knocks it in but he’s whistled offside.

18′ Bedoya chopped down by Alexi Montes, who goes in the book. Free kick for Wagner leads to Torres with the ball in the box who jitters to give himself some space but his shot is well wide of the target.

17′ Bedoya plays Torres in with a lobbed ball but Torres doesn’t get a lot of power on the cross and Martinez smothers it.

13′ Carranza heads down a cross into the box from Wagner but it’s a routine stop for Martinez.

10′ Gazdag with a great shot off a nice dummy from Torres on the Bedoya pass but the Alianza keeper Mario Martinez makes a nice save. Corner.

6′ Union with a great chance! Bedoya finds Gazdag alone 1v1 with the keeper in the box and Gazdag goes down but the referee calls for a corner.

3′ El Brujo with the first shot of the night, a low liner that misses wide. Alianza keeper had it covered.

1′ We’re underway. Union attacking toward the River End in the home blues. Alianza in a full white kit.
