Harrisburg Heat drop final match of the season to regular season champions

Harrisburg Heat’s 2024-2025 campaign ended Sunday with a disappointing 7-4 loss to the first place Chihuahua Savage that secured the unfortunate feat of winning the MASL’s wooden spoon as the last place team.

The Heat finished at the bottom of the 12-team league with 10 points – just one behind Texas Outlaws – and a record of 3-20-1.

The Heat opened up a 4-1 second period lead over the Savage at home Sunday but the visitors from Mexico rattled off six unanswered goals the rest of the way to secure their 20th win of the season. The Savage, which completed a two-game sweep of the Heat after a 6-5 victory on Saturday, had already clinched the regular season title.

The Heat ended the season with six straight losses. Their last win – just the third of the season – came against the Baltimore Blast on March 8.
