U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes has announced the roster for two upcoming matches against Women’s World Cup champions Spain, including the match against Spain at Subaru Park in Chester.

The USWNT will return to the Philadelphia area for the first time since October of last year when the team lost 2-1 to Portugal. USWNT carry strong form into the October window, winning 12 of their last 14 matches. After a 4-month break, they will look to continue the momentum. It won’t be easy, as #1 FIFA-ranked Spain have lost only two matches in regulation in their last 27, dating back to their exit of the 2024 Olympics. USWNT currently hold the #2 ranking, and the pair of matches against Spain will be the 18 th and 19 th time that a USWNT match has been between the two top-ranked national teams in the world. USWNT are unbeaten in these matches with an 11W-0L-6D record.

The USWNT will report to the new U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Georgia to open the window on October 6th . For the first match of the window, USWNT will travel to Washington, D.C. to Audi Field on October 10th . Then, the second match of the window will happen on October 13th at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. The star-studded roster features some familiar faces. Mallory Swanson returns to the national team as she regains fitness after the birth of her daughter in 2025. Swanson has not appeared in a match for USWNT since the 2024 Olympics gold medal game. Rose Lavelle returns to USWNT
after scoring at Subaru Park last fall. Trinity Rodman and Sophia Wilson highlight the list of forwards alongside Ashley Sanchez, who has led NWSL in goals this season. Former Penn State player Sam Coffey returns to the roster after her move to Manchester City in January.

The roster also features four uncapped players. The potential debutants include goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz, Evelyn Shores, Pietra Tordin, and Trinity Byars. Tordin, a Brazilian-American dual national, played college soccer at Princeton. Emma Hayes spoke about the window and the roster selection. “While we are very much looking forward to playing the World Cup champions, I keep coming back to the journey that we are all on together,” Hayes remarked. “This camp will be about reestablishing connection after a long break, looking at a few players who haven’t been with us this cycle, and putting on the best
performances we can in front of packed stadiums. Of course, our dual focus will also be on our final preparations for the World Cup qualifying tournament.”
