Philadelphia Union II standout David Vazquez is heading to Indonesia to represent the United States at the FIFA U-17 World Cup next month.

Fellow Union II forward Sal Olivas is also joining the United States U-17 team as one of three alternates.

Vazquez, a 17-year-old from Los Angeles, Calif., had 5 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearances for Philadelphia Union II in MLS Next Pro this season. He logged 1,489 minutes.

Vazquez was part of the team that qualified for the World Cup at the Concacaf U-17 Championship in 2022.

The USA kicks off Group E play on Sunday, Nov. 12 against Korea Republic (8 a.m. ET), takes on Burkina Faso on Wednesday, Nov. 15 (5 a.m. ET) and finishes the group stage vs. France on Saturday, Nov. 18 (8 a.m. ET).

All three matches will be played at Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta and shown on FOX Sports and Telemundo platforms.

Vazquez will be the first active member of the Union organization to compete at the U-17 World Cup since Auston Trusty was on the team in 2015.
