Philadelphia Union 2, Houston Dynamo 0: Instant recap and player ratings survey

Three wins in a row, and the Union are rolling.

A tremendous first half for the Philadelphia Union leads to their third straight win, and the calls for Jim Curtin’s head continue to die down. The Union dominated from the first whistle, as they applied pressure on the Houston Dynamo’s back line with a great attempt in the fourth minute by Fafa Picault. Picault would not be denied, as he scored off a powerful header from a pinpoint cross from Chris Pontius and the Union grabbed a 1-0 lead. The Union were able to add a second goal to double their lead off of an Ilsinho shot from the center of the box in the 38th minute. The second half…not as exciting as the first. A few chances for both teams, three substitutes for the Union, three for Houston, (including former Union man Andrew Wenger). Some injury scares for the Union as Andre Blake had his leg looked at, and Fabian Herbers caught an elbow up high, but you’ll take a boring second half after the great first and a 2-0 win for the Union. See you Saturday against the Colorado Rapids.

How did the Union players individually perform against the Houston Dynamo? Click the link and fill out the sheet by rating the players on a scale from 1-10 using the guide below. The votes will be counted and later this week we'll compare the fans’ votes against other player ratings to see just how well the Union did.

Here's the scale:

1 – not a pro (USL/NASL/MLS) quality performance

4 – average USL starter

6 – average MLS starter

9 – MLS All Star
