The Philadelphia Union have recalled Homegrown forward Nelson Pierre in his loan to Swedish club Skövde AIK and will loan him to USL club Charlotte Independence through the end of 2024. Pierre’s loan to Charlotte is contingent on receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.

Pierre signed a Homegrown contract with the Union in early 2023 after graduating from the YSC Academy. He made 28 appearances with 15 starts for the Union II in MLS NEXT Pro that year, registering four goals and four assists.

Pierre moved to Sweden at the beginning of 2024 and has made three appearances with Skövde AIK since. The club has played 18 matches in the Superettan, the second division of Swedish soccer, and sits in a relegation spot with a 5-3-10 record. By contrast, Charlotte sits at the top of USL League One with 24 points through 13 games.
