Philadelphia Union U15s advance to NPL regional final with win over Continental FC

The U15 team got the better of their rivals with a 7-1 win on Saturday

The Philadelphia Union Academy U15 team is marching on to the U.S. Club Soccer National Premier League regional finals after a 7-1 win over local rival Continental FC on Saturday.

Michael McKeown led the Union with a brace and Cole Turner, Obafemi Awodesu, Brendan Hasson, Matt Myers each added goals in the lopsided win. Baba Kallie scored the lone goal for Continental.

The Union will host Met Oval in the Northeast regional final. Met Oval beat Oakwood SC 5-1 in the other semifinal on Saturday. Date and time of the regional final have not been announced.

The Union and Met Oval played to a 1-1 draw in their only previous meeting this season in the Northeast Pre-Academy League. The Union finished 12-2-6 in third place in the regular season standings while Met Oval finished seventh with a 6-6-5 mark.

The winner will advance to the NPL finals in Westfield, Indiana July 13-17.
