Haverford coach Shane Rineer a podcast guest, Team USA wins Maccabi Games with a number of players with local ties

Harrisburg City Islanders teammates Brandon Miller and Mouhamed Dabo made the USL Team of the Week.

Brian White (Flemington, N.J.) tops the latest PDL prospect list. White, a rising senior at Duke, had a league-leading 17 goals for New York Red Bulls U23 this season. Goalkeeper Ben Lungaard (Greenville, Del.) comes in No. 7 on the Top 50 list while Reading United has four on the list – Aaron Molloy (15), Mo Adams (28), Paul Marie (33) and Hugo Delhommelle (37). Ocean City Nor’easters have two players on the list with Nikola Fimic checking in at No. 31 and Ignacio Tellechea at No. 41.

White also made the latest PDL Team of the Week while La Salle forward Hayden Criollo was an honorable mention for his play with Jersey Express.

Haverford College men’s soccer head coach Shane Rineer was a guest on a recent episode of the LancasterOnline Inspirational Athletes podcast.

Team USA won gold in the 20th World Maccabi Games beginning in Israel with a team that featured a number of players with ties to the region. Jonathan Dolezal of Wynnewood, Pa., University of Pennsylvania (’14); Lance Dotzman of Holland, Pa., Muhlenberg College (’14); Ryan Jones of Holland, Pa., Marywood University (’13); Max Kurtzman of Gladwyne, Pa., University of Pennsylvania (’15); Daniel Rubenstein of Bryn Mawr, Pa., Wesleyan University (‘17); and Alec Weiss of Merion, Pa., Villanova University (’13) helped bring home the gold.

Ramzi Qawasmy (Lansdale, Pa.) and Jeremy Rafanello (Delran, N.J.) will both be moving from Continental FC to the Union Academy this fall. Shanyder Borgelin will be joining the Union from Gold Soccer Academy in Florida.

UPenn had the privilege of hosting both Swansea City AFC and the United States Men’s National Team for training over the past week.

Philadelphia Union defender Keegan Rosenberry paid a visit last week to the Penn Fusion U19 Elite boys team during training for their trip to Frisco, Texas for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships.

Lehigh University released its fall 2017 schedule.

Drexel head coach Doug Hess announced his fall 2017 recruiting class, which includes Philadelphia Union Academy grad Patrick Murphy (Lansdale, Pa.) and Yardley Makefield Soccer midfielder Adam Nork (Philadelphia, Pa.).

Five players with ties to the area were named to the watch list for the 2017 High School All-American Soccer Game this December. The local players include Gavin Ford (Salesianum), John Strohlein (Delran), Jackson Becher (Lower Dauphin) Chris Donovan (Conestoga) and Nicholas Jennings (Conestoga).
