Carlos Ruiz “Will Return To Play With” Puebla FC
Puebla based Periodico Sintesis, a local news outlet arm of Periodico Digital, is reporting that the Philadelphia Union's Carlos Ruiz is all but set to join former club Puebla FC when the transfer window opens on July 15.
Ruiz has been linked to multiple teams throughout Mexico and his native Guatemala, most notably Puebla and Estudiantes. Of the links, Puebla appears to be the most interested team in 'El Pescadito,' according to Periodico Sintesis. The news outlet used information from one of its sources to declare that Ruiz is on his way out of Philadelphia:
"Although [Puebla's] sporting director Jesus Lopez Chargoy would only say that new reinforcements would be revealed at the draft, because he wants to protect his interests from promoters, it is known from a good source that Carlos "El Pescadito" Ruiz will return to play with La Franja (Puebla)."
In a separate article, Periodico Sintesis repeated the source's thoughts on Ruiz and added that the transfer isn't official – yet:
“Diego Cervantes (America) and Carlos Ruiz (Philadelphia Union) are waiting to make official their arrival to La Franja.”

The 31-year-old striker is currently playing for his country in the Gold Cup, while the Union have found some semblance of offensive cohesion during Ruiz's time away from the team. Ruiz scored a goal in Guatemala's 4-0 win over Grenada to help the Central American country move onto the next round of the Gold Cup.
