Carlos Ruiz is in Mexico City in an attempt to move to Mexican club Veracruz, according to a report by El Gofo.

The Guatemalan became a target of Veracruz when the team's bid to bring in Colombian Carlos Bacca began to fall apart. Now word is that that deal will not happen, leaving Ruiz as Veracruz's top transfer target for the 2011-2011 season.

Ruiz training in Mexico City points to an end of his time with the Philadelphia Union, whether or not a transfer to Veracruz is to happen. The Guatemalan international would miss the Union’s Saturday game against rival DC United in his attempt to move back to Mexico, where he was popular with fans at Puebla FC – which is Veracruz’s most hated rival.
