Pfeffer’s Wonder Goal Enough for 1-0 Win Over UCF

Published

on

The Philadelphia Union defeated the University of Central Florida in their third preseason match Sunday by a score of 1-0.

The lone goal was scored in the 53rd minute by 16-year-old midfielder Zach Pfeffer. It was attempted from at least 35 yards out and was, by all accounts, a fantastic strike.

Once again, the team did not reveal any lineups for the game. The team has again released photos from the match, though, on its Facebook account. Aside from Pfeffer, players seen in the pictures include Jack McInerney, Levi Houapeu, Nick Zimmerman, Andrew Jacobson, Ryan Richter, trialist Keon Daniel, Kyle Nakazawa, Danny Califf, and Michael Farfan.

The Union will take the field on February 19 against second-division side Orlando City for the last game of the Florida leg of their preseason. The team has not yet unveiled their preseason plans after that game.
