Sunday Morning Union Freekicks: Looking Back At 2010 One Last Time

Published

on

I am back in LA after a two-week trip back east.  Not surprisingly, I've been up since 5:30am.  And guess who's going to be the first one in the office next week?  This guy.

A nice part about waking up this early, especially during EPL season, is that I can catch the early games.  Villa leads Chelsea 2-1 right now at 60'.

Now that 2010 is out of systems, it's time to start looking forward.  The SuperDraft in a little more than a week and the Union's second season.  Join the discussion below.

Armchair Analyst: Five Rivalries to Look Forward to in 2011 [MLSSoccer.com, Matthew Doyle] – I couldn't agree more, Matthew.  Philly does have a lot of animosity towards anything NY-related.

The Top 10 Moments in MLS in 2010 [Goal.com, Seth Vertelney, Andrea Canales, and Nick Rosano] – This is probably the last of these wrap-up lists.  This one includes the averted strike at #10 and the debut of the Union at #9.

The Best of Philly Soccer Page in 2010 [Philly Soccer Page] – The Union, duh, and much more.

Poll: What’s Your Favorite Soccer Story of 2010? [MLSSoccer.com] – Most of the obvious ones are there, and although it’s not my favorite, it’s cool to see Thierry Henry in MLS. He’s the first player I took a liking to, and he’s the guy responsible for my love of Arsenal over a decade ago.

Spurs Manager Redknapp: We Want Beckham on Loan [MLSSoccer.com, Greg Lalas] – He fit in perfectly with Tottenham.

Best D.C. United Moments of 2010 [Black and Red United, Martin Shatzer] – The highlights of a down season for United are recapped.
