Tuesday Morning Union Freekicks: Seba Love And MLS SuperDraft

Published

on

Today is my last day at Disney World.  One observation: this probably would be the happiest place on Earth if the temperature yesterday climbed above the high 40s.  Holiday vacationers probably didn't expect to need knit caps and mittens.

Glad to see Seba get some love from Goal.com.  If the Union keeps going in the right direction, we should see more Philly players on that list next year.  Join the discussion below.

MLS Breakdown: 2010 Awards [Goal.com, Kyle McCarthy] – A nice wrap-up piece even if it’s a little thin on Union players. Sebastien Le Toux did get a mention under “Best XI.”

2011 MLS SuperDraft to Lose a Round [Keepin' it Real] – The fourth round of picks will be moved from the SuperDraft to the supplementary draft on January 18th

Independence Set to Sign National Team Midfielder [Philly.com, Marc Narducci] – Philly's other new soccer team adds to their growing talent pool.

Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea Match Report [The Short Fuse] – Although I missed this brilliant performance because I was donning mouse ears, it looks like this is the type of dominant performance Gunners supporters have been waiting for.  Arsenal now sits at two on the EPL table.

Colorado Rapids striker Omar Cummings training with Aston Villa [7500 to Holte] – With each passing year, the world's top leagues are paying more attention to both the MLS and North American players.  This can only be a good thing.

Soccer and the Christmas Truce of 1914 [Philly Soccer Page, Ed Farnsworth] – More local soccer history from the guys over at Philly Soccer Page.

John Rooney Signs With the MLS [Stumptown Footy] – Yes, John is the brother of Wayne.  The younger Rooney is just 20, and this move makes him eligible for the MLS SuperDraft next month.
