What The SB Nation Acquisition Of The Offside Means For The Brotherly Game
Yesterday SB Nation announced that it had purchased soccer blogging site The Offside. With around 300 different soccer specific blogs, The Offside has gained a large following throughout the world for its team-specific blogs.
What does this purchase mean for the Brotherly Game?
For the time being, nothing. We're going to continue under the name "the Brotherly Game" and with the current staff that you've grown used to reading news and analysis from. We'll continue to bring you the best that we can on all fronts of our coverage of the Philadelphia Union.
There is a Union blog over at The Offside, which can be found here: http://philly.theoffside.com/. We'll both exist as we did previous to the take over. Check it out.
What does this purchase mean for soccer on SB Nation?
SBN has shown that it's looking to move its coverage of soccer to the next level. By buying The Offside, SBN now has coverage of Italy, Spain and other countries throughout the world, along with The Offside's highly popular World Cup blog.
I'm personally looking forward to what this addition brings along for SBN's soccer network. In the very least SBN's founder, Tyler Bleszinski, gets to have his favorite Roma blog in the SBN family now.
