Happy Birthday To You: Fan Serenaded By Amobi Okugo After Bet

Published

Amobi Okugo didn’t make his way into the ridiculous night that was yesterday’s 4-4 draw between the Philadelphia Union and the New England Revolution, but he did have a job to do.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder sung "Happy Birthday" to a fan at last night's game, after losing a Twitter bet. Okugo and the fan, Kelly Christine of the Brotherly Game (@KChristine on Twitter), made the bet back at the Team Dinner charity event in July.

The terms were that whoever had gained more followers by 4:30 pm on September 7 would be the winner, with Okugo having to sing for Kelly Christine and give her a jersey. Kelly Christine, if she lost, would have to buy dinner for Okugo. Union striker Danny Mwanga threw himself into the winning prize for Okugo.

One of Kelly Christine's friends, @meghanXrino, announced the victory Wednesday afternoon on Twitter:

Despite winning, Kelly Christine informed the Brotherly Game that she intends to buy dinner for Okugo, and perhaps Mwanga as well.
