Keon Daniel Plays 54 Minutes In Trinidad And Tobago’s 1-0 Win Over Bermuda

2014 Word Cup qualifying started off well for Tinidad and Tobago, with a 1-0 win over Bermuda beginning the process.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Keon Daniel started Trinidad’s victory off on the bench, but was substituted into the game in the 36th minute of the game. Daniel replaced Khaleem Hyland well before the start of half time for reasons beyond a tactical change.

"It was not a tactical change. I had an impression Hyland was heavy. He was not in the game," Trinidadian coach Otto Pfister said at the post game press conference. "The reason for this is because the league in Belgium has not started. Nobody is perfect. We need time and I think from game to game we will get better."

Pfister left Daniel in the middle where the 25-year-old set about forming a partnership with fellow MLSer Chris Birchall, of the Los Angeles Galaxy. Based on match reports, Daniel had a quiet, but faultless game.

Trinidad and Daniel is set to play Barbados on Tuesday September 6 in its second 2014 World Cup qualifying match. Daniel will miss today's Real Salt Lake game and Wednesday's New England Revolution game because of the scheduling conflict between the Union and his international duty.
