Daniel Krueger and Cavan Sullivan named to Generation adidas Cup Best XI

U-17 midfielder/defender and U-15 midfielder Cavan Sullivan were named to the Best XI at the Generation adidas Cup following standout performances for Philadelphia Union Academy teams that both made it to the final.

Krueger captained a Union U-17 side that won their second major academy trophy in the past year. The U17s won MLS Next Cup last July.

Sullivan was the talk of the tournament for his performance against a team from Arsenal FC and for his overall impact during an impressive run for the U-15s to the final. Even when he wasn’t touching the ball like he did on his dummy that led to the game-winner in the semifinal he was making a splash.

Austin FC playmaker Viggo Ortiz was very much Sullivan’s match in a final that ended in a shootout win for Austin FC. Ortiz and his teammate Gavin Wolff, who was instrumental in limiting the Union attack to one goal in the final, were also on the Best XI.
