FC Cincinnati beats RBNY in marathon PK shootout, advances in MLS Cup playoffs
After falling behind, 1-0, on Saturday at Red Bull Arena, FC Cincinnati forced a penalty-kick shootout against after equalizing in the latter stages of the match. Cincinnati then won in the 10th round of penalty kicks to secure a 2-0 sweep in its best-of-three series against New York.

FC Dallas jump on Sounders early, hold on for 3-1 win
Sounders fall 3-1 in frustrating fashion on the road in Game 2 against FC Dallas, setting up a third game at Lumen Field.

Chicharito confirms departure from Galaxy
A native of Guadalajara, Hernandez joined the Galaxy in 2020 from Sevilla. He would go on to make 74 league appearances for the team, scoring 38 goals. His 2023 season ended in June with an ACL tear.

Phil Neville in advanced talks for Portland Timbers job
Neville, 46, was hired by Miami in 2021 with the backing of former club teammate and Miami co-owner David Beckham. After two-and-a-half seasons in charge, Neville was fired by Miami earlier this year with the team bottom of the Eastern Conference, with a record of 5-10-0.

Emma Hayes set to become USWNT head coach
The news is a bombshell, as Hayes was not considered to be in the mix for any position with her current job as Chelsea’s head coach. Hayes has won 6 Women’s Super League Titles, including the previous 4 in a row. She’s also won 5 FA Cups, 2 Leagues Cups, and a Community Shield. She also led Chelsea to the 2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League final.
