The Philadelphia Union are reportedly transferring midfielder Andres Perea to New York City FC, per Jose Roberto Nuñez.  Perea was on loan with New York City from July 2023 through the end of the 2023 season.

Perea, 23, played in eight MLS games for the Union and started for one. He scored once for the Union in MLS play, putting away the team’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss against Orlando City SC in March 2023. He also notched a brace off the bench against Alianza FC in the CONCACAF Champions League. During his time on loan with New York City, Perea appeared in 10 MLS regular season games, starting eight times. He scored once in 772 minutes during a win against Toronto FC.

Before Philadelphia, Perea played with Orlando and appeared in 94 playoff matches with the team. He made 43 starts for Orlando and registered three goals and three assists.

The Union originally loaned Perea to New York City for $300k in general allocation money for the 2024 season and Perea is listed around $2 million on Transfermarkt.
