Philadelphia Union II to face North Texas at Toyota Stadium for MLS Next Pro final

Philadelpia Union II will travel to Texas to take on North Texas SC next weekend in the MLS Next Pro final after defeating Columbus Crew 2 4-0 to win the Eastern Conference on Saturday night at Subaru Park.

North Texas needed overtime to beat St. Louis City 2 by three goals in a battle of the teams with the best two records across the league during the regular season. North Texas won the regular season title with 62 points to earn the top seed, St. Louis City 2 was said with 56 points and Union II finished fourth overall with 52 points.

The date and time of the MLS Next Pro final has not been announced. During the Western Conference semifinal broadcast – played at the Texas Rangers old stadium in Arlington – it was mentioned that the final would be played at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, the home stadium for FC Dallas and also the home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Markus Anderson opened the scoring for Union II in their Eastern Conference bout with Columbus Crew 2 and the 20-year-old striker added a second goal in the 74th minute. Cavan Sullivan got on the score sheet with a deflected shot from distance and captain Frankie Westfield also scored in the match.
