Rate the U: Baribo’s High Five

Tai Baribo is scorching hot to start the 2025 season with five goals in his first two games, joining just three others in MLS history with that bright of a start to the season.

The offside flag was a bigger pest to him on Saturday night than the FC Cincinnati defense, denying what would’ve been a hat trick inside 40 minutes for the Israeli international. Baribo of course isn’t doing it alone as Kai Wagner and Quinn Sullivan continued to dazzle with their service into the box. They’ve made it easy for Baribo with tap-ins – Daniel Gazdag’s unselfish play also helped – but Baribo’s putting himself in those positions with smart and aggressive running in the box.

He also showed that he’s more than a goal-scorer still tracking back to defend in the middle of the park as the game started to stretch in the latter stages of the second half.

After a week one man of the match performance, he will be the obvious choice for another. Check out the results of the player ratings poll from Week 1 below and weigh in for Week 2.
