West Chester United beats Sin City FC to advance to National Amateur Cup final
For the first time since 2018 and just the second time in club history, West Chester United will be playing for the USASA National Amateur Cup tomorrow night after defeating Sin City FC 3-2 on Friday night in Milwaukee.
Coming off back-to-back postseason exits in USL League Two (2-0) and NPSL (2-1), the Predators were again facing a deficit after Sin City FC opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a goal by Mauricio Muniz. After coming up empty on a number of chances, Jack Jasinski found the equalizer on a put back in the 30th minute to level the game at 1-1 and just after halftime, Dom Bachstein followed up a Ridge Robinson shot with a put back from close range to put West Chester in front in the 47th minute.
Sin City FC went down a man in the 66th minute when Miguel Higareda was shown a straight red after knocking down Augustus Guinle off the ball. Up a man, West Chester was able to control possession and dictate play before adding a third goal from a put back off a corner by Dwayne Hickerson in the 79th minute. What felt like the exclamation point on the game with a 3-1 lead and up a man, Sin City made things interested when Julio Vargas scored an absolute beauty with a first time strike from outside the 18 off a corner kick.
Sin City nearly connected on an equalizer with a ball played over the top but the chance went wanting and West Chester was able to hold off the rest of regulation and stoppage time to book a spot in the final tomorrow against two-time champions RWB Adria.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. eastern time and will be streamed live on YouTube.
