USWNT Returns to Subaru Park for October Friendly with Portugal
For the first time since 2022, the U.S. Women’s National Team will return to Subaru Park for an international friendly. The home of the Philadelphia Union will host the USWNT on Thursday, October 23, as they take on Portugal in the first of three matches during the October FIFA window. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
In addition to the on-field action, the night will feature a pregame retirement tribute for U.S. soccer legend Alex Morgan. Subaru Park holds special significance for Morgan, as it is the same venue where she scored her first international goal on October 6, 2010. She went on to score 123 goals for the United States and became one of the most iconic figures in women’s soccer history.
The match will mark the ninth all-time appearance for the USWNT at Subaru Park, where the team remains unbeaten. Their most recent visit to Chester came on April 12, 2022, when they defeated Uzbekistan 9–0. That match also featured Trinity Rodman’s first international goal.
Following the game in Chester, the USWNT will continue their October schedule with another match against Portugal in East Hartford, Connecticut, on October 26, and conclude the window in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 29. The East Hartford match will include a tribute to Connecticut native Alyssa Naeher, while the Kansas City game will mark the team’s debut at CPKC Stadium, the first purpose-built stadium for women’s soccer in the United States.
Tickets for the match will go on sale to the public on Friday, August 1. Fans who are members of U.S. Soccer Insiders will get access to a presale starting Tuesday, July 29, while Visa cardholders will have access to a separate presale beginning on Thursday, July 31.
