Though it’s not a stat that the NCAA keeps, it’s probably safe to say that two hat tricks on the same day from soccer players at the same school is a rare feat.

LVC accomplished that feat when Nathan Prex and Jordan Lasky (Reading, Pa.) each scored three times in wins for the Flying Dutchmen on Wednesday.

Prex scored a goal in his sixth straight game with three second half goals to lead the men’s team to a 3-1 win at Penn State Harrisburg. Lasky scored three times in a 6-0 win over Neumann at home. The hat trick was the first not only for Lasky but the first for the program since 2017..

Prex leads the team with 8 goals and is the program’s all-time leading goal-scorer with 38. Lasky leads her team with 7 goals.

LVC is at least the second program to pull off the two hat tricks in a day feat. New Jersey City University’s Dom Celi Jr. and Gineth Arias Martinez both had hat tricks in their games on September 20.

LVC’s teams are both off to good starts. The men are 5-1-2 and the women are 7-1 with MAC Freedom conference play set to begin in early October.
