Four Philadelphia Union alums on USMNT roster for matches against Belgium and Portugal
Former Philadelphia Union teammates Brenden Aaronson, Mark McKenzie, Auston Trusty and Matt Freese have all been called into the U.S. Men’s National Team for two upcoming friendlies against World Cup-qualified European opponents Belgium and Portugal.
Hershey, Pa. native Christian Pulisic is also among the 27 players on the team in the final training camp before final 26-player rosters for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are announced. Players will begin reporting to Atlanta on March 22.
“We have spent the last 18 months developing the player pool so we can be prepared to make the correct decisions for the World Cup roster, and this is another valuable opportunity,” USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said in a news release. “We must treat these games like they are a part of the World Cup, and what is most important is that the players bring the right mentality and commitment to the group.”
