Delaware star departs program to sign with Denmark second division club
Delaware star Marius Stenner has left the Blue Hens to pursue a professional career in Denmark, the team announced earlier this week.
Stenner had a goal in 3 appearances and 178 minutes but last featured in a 4-3 loss to Maryland on September 4. Delaware is 3-2-2 to start the season and visits Rhodes Field tonight in West Philadelphia to face Penn.
A native of Denmark, the 22-year-old Stenner signed with Akademisk Boldklub in the second tier. They are currently in 8th place with a 1-3-4 W-D-L record. Stenner signed a contract through June 2029. During his time in Newark, Stenner appeared in 36 matches with 24 starts and tallied 56 career points on 21 goals and 14 assists. He is the first Blue Hen to turn pro under head coach Tommy McMenemy.

Stenner was on the preseason Hermann Trophy watch list and was eligible but not selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.
“Representing Delaware has meant a lot to me,” Stenner said in a news release. “I didn’t know what I was getting into flying across the Atlantic, but as soon as you’re part of the community, you know what it means to people.
