Villanova defender/midfielder Chris Hill was announced as a new signing for the Harrisburg City Islanders during a press conference at FNB Field in Harrisburg on Wednesday.

The North Jersey native recently finished his senior season at Villanova, starting in all 14 games he appeared in. He started 19 games for the Wildcats in 2014 and had two assists after a sophomore season that saw him score three goals and add three assists in 15 appearances and 7 starts.

Villanova head coach Tom Carlin said Hill was "Mr. Consistency" during his three years with the Wildcats.

"You always knew that he was 100 percent committed to the coaching staff, teammates and program," Carlin said. "He played in numerous positions during his tenure and brought his usual blend of athleticism, intelligence and industriousness to all of them."

Hill joined Carlin's team in 2013 after the Richmond University program was disbanded following his freshman season. He scored two goals and added an assist in 16 games for the Spiders as a midfielder and forward.

He was unable to attend the City Islanders press conference on Wednesday because he's still finishing up coursework.

"Once he gets his degree, therefore knocking out schoolwork as a rival to the extra hard work that goes into being a professional, look out," Carlin said. "You are going to see Chris racing up the professional ranks."
