Elizabethtown’s Jeff Light named DIII Player of the Week

The Hershey native had a big week leading the Blue Jays to a pair of victories

Elizabethtown College forward Jeff Light has been named the national Division III Player of the Week after a three-goal and three-assist week for the Blue Jays.

The senior from Hershey recorded a brace and added an assist in a 3-0 win over Wilkes University and then added a goal and a pair of assists in a 6-0 win over Neumann University.

Light, who played high school soccer at Lower Dauphin, has three goals and five assists on the season. He leads the Landmark Conference in assists and is tied with Gilbert Waso for the team lead with 11 points.

He has 18 goals and 13 assists in his career.

Light was chosen as the Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Butler forward David Goldsmith received the Division 1 honor and Rockhurst University forward Kaleb Jackson the Division II honor.
