Former La Salle defender/midfielder Joe Farrell was named to the USL all-league second team after a successful rookie season with Rochester Rhinos.

The Blue Bell, Pa. native who played for his dad Pat Farrell at La Salle from 2012-15, scored five goals and added an assist in 29 appearances for the Rhinos this season. He was one of four defenders on the second team.

Farrell also spent time with the Philadelphia Union Academy in its “club and country” days as a member of youth club affiliate Continental FC Delco.

Reading, Pa. native Corey Hertzog was also on the second team after scoring 13 goals and assisting on four others in 30 appearances for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Hertzog played for Reading United in the 2009 and 2010 seasons and spent three seasons at Penn State.

Harrisburg City Islanders midfielder Jose Barril was also on the second team. The Spaniard had six goals and seven assists for the City Islanders in his third season with the club.

Bethlehem Steel FC didn’t have a player on either the first or second team. Click here to see the full list of both teams.
