Union Academy teams pick up wins against Bethesda SC and Lehigh Valley United
U13, U14, U16 and U18 teams went 4-0 over the weekend
Tiger Graham continued his torrid goal-scoring pace with a first-half brace and goalkeeper Jahmali Waite recorded his third straight clean sheet to lead the U18 team to a 4-0 win over Bethesda SC on Saturday.
Graham, who is spending a post-grad year with the Academy, has nine goals over his last four games. His goals on Saturday came in the 15th and 36th minutes, both after midfielder Matthew Di Rosa was sent off.
Justin McMaster and Kalil ElMedkhar added goals in the second half to double the lead. McMaster’s goal came off a pretty play from Issa Rayyan, who beat the keeper to his left and slid a pass into an on-rushing McMaster who slid in and got enough of the ball to tap it into the net. The goal was the second of the season for McMaster and the third of the season for ElMedkhar.
After the red card, Bethesda did little to trouble Waite, who recorded his third clean sheet of the season in four starts.
U16s
The U16 team won by an identical scoreline in the second game of a doubleheader against Bethesda SC at the Power Training Complex on Saturday.
Daniel Bloyou had a hat trick and Aziz Saidi added a goal for the Union. Goalkeeper Kris Shakes had his first clean sheet with the U16 team this year to go with two clean sheets he’s had with the U18s.
Bloyou leads the team with nine goals. Saidi’s goal was his second of the season.
U14s
Aboubacar Camara scored twice and Julian Anderson added a goal to give the U14s the 3-2 win over Lehigh Valley United at YSC Sports on Saturday morning.
Lehigh Valley twice took leads – in the 12th minute on a Caleb Gerdeman goal and in the 36th minute from Kresstoph Whittick but Camara’s two second half goals were the difference for the home side.
Camara leads the team with nine goals.
U13s
Mateo Infante’s 11th minute goal held up as the eventual winner and goalkeeper Aiden Elvidge had a clean sheet for the U13 team in a 3-0 win over Lehigh Valley United.
Brandan Craig added a goal in the 46th minute and Micah Cain rounded out the scoring for the Union in the 64th minute.
U12s
The U12 game reports against Lehigh Valley have not yet been posted. The U12 team drew 2-2 and won 8-0 against Continental FC Delco on Sunday.
Timothy Madden had a brace in the first game while Marcello Mazzola had four goals, Nelson Pierre had a brace and Nicolas Rubio and Anthony Derk added goals in the second game.
