Jamaica to play two February friendlies in the United States
The Reggae Boyz will face the United States and Honduras on American soil next month.
The United States will play host to Jamaica in more ways than one this coming February, when the Reggae Boyz will play two friendlies in the US.
First, the United States will host Jamaica in Chattanooga, TN on February 3. The match till take place at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, and is the home not only for Chattanooga FC but the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football. Chattanooga FC drew 18,227 for a recent game against New York Cosmos B – a record for an NPSL team. The last time these two teams met, Jamaica defeated the United States by a 2-1 score, sending Jamaica through to the 2015 Gold Cup Final against Mexico at Lincoln Financial Field.
Next, Jamaica will travel to Houston, TX to take on Honduras on February 16 at BBVA Compass Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo. The last time these two teams faced one another resulted in a 2-2 draw in the CONCACAF hexagonal for the 2014 World Cup.
Since these friendlies do not occur during the FIFA window for international matches, the Union are under no obligation to release Andre Blake, Cory Burke, Alejandro Bedoya, or Keegan Rosenberry. Since these matches are most likely going to occur when the Union will be holding training camp, it will be worth keeping an eye on who attends and who doesn’t.
