Auston Trusty in camp with U.S. U20s

Philadelphia Union homegrown one of 24 players on Tab Ramos’ camp roster

Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty is in California for the first U.S. U20 training camp of the new year.

The 18-year-old from Media, Pa. is one of 24 players called up for the camp in Carson, California by head coach Tab Ramos. The camp runs through January 23 and is one of two camps that will be held ahead of U20 World Cup qualifying in Costa Rica in February. The Philadelphia Union open their training camp on January 23.

Trusty is the lone representative from the Union at the camp. Fellow homegrown Derrick Jones was with the U20 team for the Four Nations Tournament in October and in Costa Rica in December.

Real Salt Lake has three players and Atlanta United has two on the roster while Orlando City, NYCFC, Portland Timbers, FC Dallas, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and Sporting Kansas City each have one.

SuperDraft picks Miles Robinson (Atlanta United) and Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers) are both in the mix, as well as college players JT Marcincowski (Georgetown), Jonathan Klinsmann (Cal), Aaron Herrera (New Mexico), Marcello Borges (Michigan) and Eryk Williamson (Maryland).
