Cory Burke gets another opportunity to shine with Jamaica

The Bethlehem Steel FC Striker will figure into the Reggae Boyz fixtures against the United States and Honduras

Cory Burke has been on a tear this off-season. For the third consecutive time this year, the stand out forward will represent his country along with Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake for their upcoming matches against the United States on February 3rd and Honduras on February 16th. After coming to Bethlehem Steel FC from Jamaican side Rivoli United on loan and proving well with four goals and a pair of assists, Burke just recently signed a deal with Bethlehem right before his first call up. He made both organizations know they made the right choice, drawing a penalty and netting a winner against Guyana as well as getting a game winner against Suriname to secure Jamaica’s spot in next year’s Gold Cup. Both matches are the Reggae Boyz last chance to figure out what kind of squad they want to bring in before the Scotiabank CFC Men’s Carribean Cup semifinals in June before the Gold Cup in July.

If Burke can keep his form going into Domestic play in his first full year for BSFC, he will be deadly. In a league populated by some up and coming Caribbean forwards, Burke might be posed to become the best out of a very strong bunch.
