After renewing their rivalry with Temple last fall, Pitt will be traveling to Philadelphia again this spring to take on another in-state program for the first time in a friendly on March 25.

Penn will host the Saturday afternoon match at Rhodes Field in West Philly at 2 p.m. It’s one of six spring matches Panthers head coach Jay Vidovich announced on Wednesday. Penn has not announced its spring exhibition schedule.

Vidovich, a long time Wake Forest coach who took over the program last season after coaching Portland Timbers 2 in USL, has added six mid-year additions to the squad, including former Philadelphia Union Academy forward Colin Brezniak (Hanover, Pa.). Brezniak played for the Union U14 and U16 teams before joining the D.C. United Academy ahead of the 2015-16 season.

The Panthers visited Philadelphia last fall to play Temple for the first time in 37 years. Temple won the match 2-1 on a late goal from Jorge Gomez Sanchez after staking the visitors to an early 1-0 lead.

Pitt finished the 2016 season 2-13-3 overall with six losses and a pair of draws in the always tough Atlantic Coast Conference while Penn finished 5-5-6 overall and 3-3-1 in Ivy League play.
