Ennis Stewart’s Philadelphia Union Academy golazo has to be seen

The kids are all right.

The Philadelphia Union’s future lies within its academy. The club has repeated that mantra since 2010, and we’re now seeing that paying dividends – after all, it takes time to develop a 15 year old kid into a professional athlete capable of playing against guys who have played at the highest level for both club and country.

Some kids though seem to have the skills early on. Take Ennis Stewart. Ennis is with the Union’s U14s team, and he scored his second goal of the season this past Saturday against Virginia Development Academy at YSC Sports in Wayne. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, and while that might be rather pedestrian, Ennis’ goal was anything but.

Bear in mind, he’s just turned 15.
