Former Union Player Eduardo Coudet And Trialist Aaron Wheeler Now With The Fort Lauderdale Strikers

The New York Red Bulls defeated the Fort Lauderdale Strikers today 2-0 but the important news from the game came from the line-up used by the Strikers.

PaddockTalk.com has a game recap that features the only line-ups, and infractions list, available so far from the game. In the Strikers’ line-up two notable names can be found. The first is Eduardo Coudet, the Argentine midfielder whom the Union brought on with a third of the season left to bolster the center of the midfield. Aaron Wheeler, identified as one of the six players on trial with the Union during the 2011 preseason, played at striker for Fort Lauderdale.

Coudet left the Union after the team waived the 37-year-old. Wheeler was never signed by the Union after the team had him on his radar as a possible replacement at target striker for the departed Alejandro Moreno (expansion draft selection by Chivas USA).

Wheeler was with the team at least through mid-February while on rial trying for a spot with the Union. Coudet started 9 games for the Union last season.
