Michael Orozco Fiscal On Trial With Pachuca
Two days ago the Brotherly Game followed a trail of tweets by former Kansas City and USMNT striker Herculez Gomez about hanging out with a group of Americans in Pachuca, Mexico. Included in the group was former Philadelphia Union center defender Michael Orozco Fiscal, whose professional status was a mystery until today.
Criterio Hidalgo, a news outlet in Pachuca, Mexico, is reporting that along with fellow Americans DeMarcus Beasley and Jamel Johnson, Orozco Fiscal is on trial with Meixcan Primera Division club Pachuca. Orozco Fiscal's rights are still currently owned by San Luis, another team in the Primera Division and Criterio Hidalgo says that Pachuca is talking to San Luis about either a loan or a permanent transfer.
Orozco Fiscal has not played in an official professional level match since returning to San Luis from the Union in early March due to what Criterio Hidalgo calls "administrative mismanagement." The Union did not – or were not able to – extend his loan with the team, which was originally only for one year.
The 25-year-old played 29 games for the Union during his time in Philadelphia. Orozco Fiscal had become a fan favorite by the end of his stay for his late season play, which included the eventual game winner off of a header in the 28th minute of a 2-1 victory against the New York Red Bulls.
