Given the opportunity to act upon the Quest 4 Questlove, the Brotherly Game writer KChristine, two of the crew at Philly Union Talk and Sons of Ben member David Fiorito made their way to Drinker's West to try to meet Questlove, of the Roots.
After listening to Questlove's two-and-a-half hour DJ performance, those of the group that were able to remain through it all were able to get some time with the musician. A Union intern handed Questlove with a customized jersey from the Philadelphia Union (seen in the picture above), with his name on the back and 215 as the number. KC then gave him a Sons of Ben scarf and a note along with it from them.
Questlove was cracking jokes during the encounter – "hysterical," remarked KC – including one regarding his current living arrangments after being handed a Philly team's jersey. Holding up the jersey, Questlove deadpanned, "You know I live in New York, right?" The Philadelphia born-and-raised Questlove commented on his love of the Sons of Ben from afar to KC, and displayed the Sons of Ben portion of the scarf for photos.
It remains to be seen whether or not Questlove will have the ability to make it out to a game, due to his schedule, but KC provided him with a print version of the Union's fixture list as part of her group of Union-related items.
