Tim Howard Will Not Play With Everton Against The Philadelphia Union Tomorrow Night
United States Men's National Team starting goalkeeper Tim Howard did not travel with Everton to Philly, according to multiple Philadelphia Union beat reports, and will not play against the Union tomorrow night.
The former New Jersey/New York Metrostars stalwart will not be coming to Philadelphia, but will rather join Everton when the team plays DC United for the team's Saturday night game. Soccer Insider, the Washington Post soccer blog run by Steven Goff, said over Twitter that even then Howard may not make an appearance for Everton. Howard's agent told Goff that Howard will at least "skip the Union friendly."
Ryan Bright, of CSN Philly, is reporting that Howard is currently on vacation. The news has stunned Union fans and front office members alike, with Bright and other reporters quoting Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz as saying he was "real surprised" when he heard the news.
Everton's friendly against the Union at 7:30 pm will be preempted by the two teams' academy teams (under-18) playing at 4 pm, also at PPL Park, tomorrow.
