Because Orlando City already had three Designated Players, sources say that Sacha Kljestan’s contract will be bought down under the maximum salary threshold using allocation money.

Red Bulls resign Aaron Long
Long was originally drafted by the Portland Timbers in the second round of the 2014 MLS Super Draft, then went to the Seattle Sounders in 2015 and played for their Sounders 2 side, (now renamed the Tacoma Defenders) and played in twenty-seven matches.

Houston take on Guastatoya in Champions League
While this is Guastatoya’s first time in CCL they do have a few players who have played in the tournament before. Defender Carlos Gallardo and goalkeeper José Calderon have both played in the tournament before albeit with different teams. For Houston this is their fifth appearance in the competition but it has been six years since they last made the tournament. In 2007 and 2008 they made it all the way to the semifinals of the tournament.

Who are Toronto’s opponent in the Champions League, Club Atlético Independiente?
Panama’s representatives have already played four league games, winning three of them. Although this will be Independiente’s debut in this competition, it will be far from a comfortable test for an under-strength TFC side.
