Keon Daniel, Trinidad And Tobago Take On Barbados At 4 PM In World Cup Qualifier

Trinidad and Tobago plays Barbados today at 4 pm and Keon Daniel may make his first start for the country as a member of the Philadelphia Union.

Daniel and Trinidad pulled out a close 1-0 win over Bermuda on a Kenwyne Jones goal in the 44th minute. Tobago was expected to pull well away from Barbados, but those expectations were not met. The country did improve its play in the first half after Daniel was substituted into the match for the sluggish Khaleem Hyland, with Trinidad and Tobago's Football Federation naming him as one of the reasons for the national team's victory.

Barbados is very much the underdog in today's qualifier and T&T players realize that they should win the game, though not all of them are coming out to say that.

“I’ve never played against them before so I’m definitely looking forward to the match itself,” Chris Birchall, of the Los Angeles Galaxy, told T&T media.

I know that none of these Caribbean teams should be taken lightly despite where they may be on the FIFA rankings. And they are at home so they definitely will be coming all out to get a result."

Though Trinidad's coach Otto Pfister hasn't specifically said so, it's possible that Daniel will get the start against Barbados after his impressive display last week.
