VUhoops: ‘Nova Will Not Play At PPL Park In Fall 2012

From the confines of SB Nation new addition VU Hoops, PPL Park will not play host to the Villanova Wildcats' football at all in the fall of 2012.

According to VU Hoops, who talked to football coach Andy Talley for their report, the fall game at PPL Park will not happen this year due to scheduling conflicts.

This news may have produced cries of joy from a segment of Union supporters who felt that the partnership could have potentially harmed PPL Park's playing field conditions at the end of the MLS season and into the following one.

Despite the officials at the school choosing to end, for now, the relationship between Villanova football and the Union, Talley had nothing but positives to say about PPL Park.

Nick Sakiewicz, Union CEO and Managing Partner, wanted the initial ‘Nova game to spark a business bond between the two sides, so this most likely won’t be the last time that the two sides discuss anything relevant to football and PPL Park.

In the comments section of the VU Hoops story, people have speculated that the best course of action for Villanova in the future, if it intends to eventually move to the highest level of collegiate football, would involve playing all of the team's games at PPL Park, not just picking and choosing every season.
