Darius Madison and the defending national champions University of Virginia are over in England for spring break and have already scored more goals as a team than they did in their successful College Cup in December. (Quick review: Madison's semifinal goal was all the offense they needed to capture the school's seventh national title in the final weekend of the season).

Virginia beat Crystal Palace Academy 4-0 in a match on Monday in London, the first of three matches they have scheduled for their spring break trip. Update: Darius Madison did score one of the goals and it was a beauty. You can see a Vine of it HERE.

The Cavaliers play a youth side for Blackburn Rovers FC on Wednesday and a Burnley FC youth side on Friday before returning home.

Notre Dame freshman Patrick Berneski didn’t make an appearance in the fall for the Fighting Irish but did come off the bench in the team’s first match of the spring season, a friendly against Chicago Fire they lost 1-0 on Monday.

Monday’s match was the second between a Philadelphia Union Academy alum and an MLS side in 2015.

Georgetown took on reigning MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy in the nation’s capital back in early February when they were in town visiting the White House.

Sophomore forward Brett Campbell scored a goal for the Hoyas, something he didn't do all of the regular season, in the 2-1 loss and Keegan Rosenberry wore the captain's armband opposite MLS MVP Robbie Keane in the match.

The Hoyas are scheduled to visit the area on Saturday, March 21, for a match against the Philadelphia Union at 11 a.m., the morning after the Union’s next home game against FC Dallas.
