Player rating survey: Philadelphia Union at Portland Timbers September 17th, 2016

The Union played a wide open match in Portland that saw a combined 33 shots but ended up on the wrong end of the score line in a 2-1 loss. The Union could only put across one of their eight shots on target as Jake Gleeson was impressive in goal for Portland. The goals that did come came in quick succession. Darren Mattocks wreaked havoc on Rosenberry's side and assisted on goals in the 46th and 53rd minutes. The Union were able to equalize for a few minutes on a connection between Fabian Herbers and Chris Pontius who finished his 11th goal of the season.
