MLS/Union Classics

The Philadelphia Union are finally back on the MLS classics schedule with a 2019 replay of the Union’s upset of reigning champions Atlanta United. Atlanta, fresh off of a U.S. Open Cup victory, fell to three second half Union goals as the Union took home an important battle for first place 3-1. This match can be viewed on Monday at 4 p.m. on YouTube, MLSsoccer.com, the MLS App, or Facebook.

Additionally, a replay of the Union’s 2019 playoff victory over New York Red Bulls will air on Friday at 7:30 p.m. There’s little need to give a preview of this match since most Union fans have the entire play by play memorized, but Friday is still a great way to relive the Union’s first playoff victory. The game can be viewed on fuboTV, Sling, and FS1.

International Replays

International action starts off early this week, with a Jamaica v. USA Gold Cup replay. Union keeper Andre Blake may have dropped 3 goals to the Americans, however, he was the only Union player on the pitch that day, so it is acceptable to turn traitor and root for the Reggae Boyz. Unfortunately, the game is early on Monday morning, 2:00 am to be exact, so if you want to watch be sure to brew a cup of coffee beforehand. For those who can’t watch a 2:00 am game, there is a 4:30 pm replay of the 2019 USA v Mexico Gold Cup final the same day.

Later in the week, the U-20 American team faces the U-20 French team in a replay of the 2019 U-20 World Cup. The USA pulled off a surprising 3-2 victory which sent them to the next round against Equador, while France was sent home from the tournament. The game is being re-aired on Fox Soccer Plus at 12:00 pm on Friday.

Bundesliga

Bundesliga action continues this week, with play starting hot and heavy on Tuesday as Bayern Munich (1) plays Borussia Dortmund (2) at 12:30 pm on FS1, FOX Deportes, fuboTV, and Sling. The match looks to be one to enjoy with both teams coming off of strong victories as they look to prove themselves as the end of the season nears.

Later that day, Bayer Leverkusen (4) faces Wolfsburg (6) as Leverkusen looks to inch into the top three and Wolfburg looks to… not lose. The teams face off at 2:30 pm on FS2, FOX Deportes, fuboTV, and Sling.

The Bundesliga plays Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week, with most other games being already decided (i.e. Borussia Dortmund (2) vs. Paderborn (16) on Sunday). All of these games can be viewed in some form or another of Fox Sports.

United Passions (2015)

United Passions tells the story of the rise of FIFA and the soccer federation’s rise to power and the creation and success of the FIFA World Cup. The movie depicts those who helped soccer grow into an international past time and push it past it’s humble origins to become the most popular sport in the world.

While the movie itself isn’t perfect, it does a good job of telling the history of the sport, the challenges it faced and its rise to fame.

The movie is available for free on Vudu, Crackle, and Tubi, and for $2.99 on YouTube, Google Play, and Amazon Prime Video.

Little League World Series

Baseball fans, rejoice! The greatest baseball competition on Earth is returning as ESPN2 re-airs LLWS games Saturday afternoon.

I shouldn’t even have to sell you on this one. There are few better competitions than the Little League World Series, and with the August tournament canceled, it’s best to watch the games while you can.
