The first round of the World Cup style tournament, MLS is Back will come to a close for the Philadelphia Union Monday night. Monday’s match, which kicks off at 8 p.m., will see the U take on Orlando City for the top spot in Group A.

Both teams come into the match with a two-game winning streak and securing the maximum six points through the first two games of the tournament. For the season the two clubs have identical Win-Loss-Draw records and sit with 7 points. Orlando is ahead of the Union in the east because of a +2-goal differential.

On Saturday, Union’s team manager Jim Curtin spoke about the upcoming match, saying it will involve two [the Union and Orlando] of the best teams in the bubble. On the topic of winning the group stage, Curtin didn’t waste any time by saying “9 points in the league.” Just a reminder for everyone the points from the tournament does not just impact the MLS is Back tournament, but the overall league standings. He also said even though they are already through, they want to take all three points.

One player who will not be available for the union is Jose Martinez. Martinez was handed a one game suspension from the Disciplinary committee for ‘violent conduct.’ The committee says it is because of an incident that happened in the 40th minute of the Union’s game against Inter Miami. Andrew Wooten is still listed as questionable on the injury report.
