The corner kick draught is finally over!

Kacper Przybylko got on the end of a redirected Jamiro Monteiro corner kick (headed on by Alejandro Bedoya) in the 7th minute and had a tap-in finish at the far post to give the Philadelphia Union an early lead over D.C. United on Saturday night.

It was the first goal off a corner for the Union since September 15, 2018 when Auston Trusty scored off a short corner taken by Borek Dockal against the Montreal Impact.

The Union’s draught was 291 corner kicks without a goal in all competitions. All but 34 of those came after former assistant coach and set piece guru B.J. Callaghan left the Union for a job with the U.S. Men’s National Team.
